Mountain
clim ber Hulda Crooks, 91, is the oldest
woman to clim b Japan's 12.3X5 toot high
Mount Fuji. "It's w onderful You always
feel good when you make a goal,"C rooks
said.
Mountain clim bing is what keeps her in
shape, said Crooks. Since her 66th birth
day 25 years ago. she has climbed 97
mountains. She said the M ount F uji climb
was her toughest because the loose vol
canic rocks made it hard to clim b
Crooks was not alone on her climb
Several members from a Japanese business
climbed w ith her and cheered when she
waved a U S . flag on top o f the mountain
