Eicher, who lives eight miles east
of Sandy, is showing a collection of
work featuring Mount Htx»d and
Tim berline bulge
The gallery is open from 11 a m to
5 p m . Friday through Sunday
Eicher has a studio and gallery at
her home called "P aintings and
Country Things." And though she
doesn't have a view of Mount Hood, it
is unquestionably her favorite sub-

Of the more than 580 paintings she
has done since 1970, probably 60 to 70
percent of her paintings have been of
Mount Hood
Jonathan Roberts, 10. a fifth -
grader at Sandy Grade School, won
$100 foi solving a Cap'n Crunch
mystery
The contest, sponsored by the
Quaker Oats Co., makers of the
cereal, gave the names of several
potential villains Roberts had to
discover who was going to ambush
the captain
Quaker Oats Co gave out $100,000
in prizes, according to company
literature
Roberts, the son of Mike and < arol
Roberts of Sandy, gave 10 percent of
the money to his church He also
gave his sister, Lisa, 8. $10 for help­
ing him solve the mystery.
He spent the rest of the money on a
variety of toys, according to his
father
It took Johathan two weeks and 2 -•
boxes of cereal to solve the m ystery,

Police urrest
2 for theft
Two men were charged with first-
degree theft on May 16 in connection
w ith the theft of $435 worth of elec­
tronic equipment taken from Pioneer
Electronics. 17040 Ruben I-me
A description of the vehicle and the
suspects was given to Sandy police
imm ediately after the theft at 12:30
p in Two people were arrested by
( la« kamas County sheriff's deputies

man and woman were questioned
soon after the arrest
Police charged Michael James
White, 36, of Portland, with theft in
the first degree and giving false in­
form ation to a police officer White
also was served outstanding w ar­
rants from Clackamas County for
failure to appear on two second-
degree theft charges He also was
served outstanding w arrants for
failure to appear on a driving while
suspended charge from • lackamas
County and a driving while suspend­
ed charge from Multnomah County
Brian P hillip Sherwood. 46, of
Portland, was charged with giving
false inform ation to a police officer
Sherwood also was served with
outstanding warrants for failure to
appear in Multnomah County on a
concealed weapon charge and for a
parole violation
Chris Mathew Larson, 31, of
M ilwaukie, was charged with first-
degree theft
A woman who was with them was
not charged
The equipment taken in the theft
included two 35mm cameras, a tape
recorder, a car stereo, battery packs
and an electric shaver
In other police reports, Arnold Ed­
ward Linn, 47. of Boring, was charg-
ed with driving with a suspended
license.
Rodney Scott Chew. 22. of Sandy,
was charged with assault in the
fourth degree
Scouts found without search
Three Boy Scouts from b ik e
Oswego were found about 8 30 p m
on Sunday before a full-scale search
and rescue effort was initiated
On Friday, three teen aged scouts
and an adult leader hiked into the
Lmney Creek Campground, which is
about 14 miles southeast of Zigzag
On Sunday, one of the scouts sprain
ed his ankle and Thomas B Kitch. 48.
w alked ba< k to his car and planned to
drive back and find the boys.
After Kitch reached his c a r. he was
unable to find the campsite He drove
back ' to Highway 26 and at about 5
flagged down a sheriff 's deputy.

began a search, and 12 members of
Multnomah County Explorer Post
No 613 had assembled at the
Hoodland Fire D istrict's main fire
hall m preparation for a search
But at 8 .30 p m. Deputy John Van
Huizen located the campground and
took the three boys back to the
Hoodland Fire Hall
W illiams said the scouts were well
equipped and were experienced
campers.
