Amanda Wagoner
Infant Amanda Lots Wagoner died
Aug.«. She was stillborn.
Survivors include her parents,
Cynthia and Michael Wagoner of
Sandy; a sister, Michelle, 5; a
brother. Christopher, 4; and grand­
parents Walt and Shirley Porter of
Eagle Creek and Paul and Barbara
Wagoner of Summerville.
Frank Tobias
Sandy resident Frank John Tobias
died in Gresham on Aug. 15 at the age
of «6.
Recitation of the Rosary was held
Monday. Aug. 18. Funeral Mass was
said Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic
Church in Sandy Concluding ser
vices were at Sandy Ridge Cemetery.
M r. Tobias was born in Vibank,
Saskatchewan, Canada, on Jan. 23,
1920. He was raised at Vibank where
he began working on the fam ily farm
at an early age.
On June 2, 1942, he m arried
Veronica M. Sali in Vibank. They
took over the operation of the fam ily
farm at Vibank. which they ran until
194«, when they moved to Oregon.
Making their home in the Boring
area, M r Tobias worked several jobs
until 194«, when he began working for
Fanning Chevrolet in Gresham. At
the automobile dealership, he began
as a mechanic and later as service
manager and then worked in the
sales department.
In 1983, he began working in real
estate sales in the Portland area.
Later, in 1966, he began Tobias Real
ty in Portland, which he worked until
selling the business and retiring in
1977.
After retiring, they moved to the
Sandy area to make their permanent
home. Mrs. Tobias preceded him in
death in 1964.
He was a member of St. Michael
Catholic Church, and was active in
the church. After moving here, he en­
joyed raising cattle, traveling and
socializing with people.
He is survived by a son, Leonard
Tobias of Sandy; two sisters, M ary
Bohn and Anne Fink, both of Saskat­
chewan. Canada , and three grand­
children.
Paul Buuck
A memorial for longtime Sandy
resident Paul Leonard Buuck was
held Wednesday at Carroll Funeral
Home in Gresham.
M r. Buuck died Aug. 17 at a
Portland hospital. He was 85.
He was bom on Nov. 3, 1900, in
Newberg He moved to Sandy in 1932
He married M ary Retalieck in Van­
couver, Wash., on April 10, 1953.
He farmed in Sandy until about two
years ago when he moved to Trout­
dale. His wife died Jan. 14, 1965.
He enjoyed farming and loved his

He is survived by his stepchildren.
Burnis McClanahan of Troutdale,
Jim Goff of Sandy and Frances
Wright of Portland; a sister, Cristine
Freeman of McMinnville; and many
step-grandchildren and step-great­
grandchildren.
He w ill be buried privately at San­
dy Ridge Cemetery.
Eugenia Boitano
Eugenia Boitano, a Sandy resident
for 74 years, died in Gresham on Aug
12 at the age of 96.
Mrs. Boitano was bom Eugenia
Teresa Garbarini in Goreto, Ita ly ,' n
July 19, 1890. She was raised in Ite y
and at the age of 22 came to tne
United States
After her m arriage to Mario J.
Boitano on Dec. 6, 1912, they made
their home near Sandy where they
began their family.
M r Boitano died in 1933 Eugenia
remained at their farm south of San­
dy where she raised dairy cattle
while raising their children After the
children were grown she worked car­
ing for the elderly in Portland.
Mrs. Boitano was a member of St.
Michael Catholic Church and the
Sandy Senior Center She enjoyed
flowers and gardening
She is survived by her children:
Olga Holloway and Mario Gene
Boitano. both of Sandy; a sister,
Carmella Garbarini, in Italy; nine
g ra n d c h id re n and nine g r e a t­
grandchildren.

The Sandy Senior Center's Annual
Picnic in the Park will be held Sun­
day, Aug. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. in
Meinig Park. A barbecue chicken
luncheon will be served from 2 to 3:30
p.m. Tickets are 83.75 and the lunch
will include chicken, baked beans,
cole slaw, roll, watermelon and
beverage. The Sandy Choraliers and
the Sandy Silvertones Band will pro­
vide entertainment from 2:30 to 3:30
p.m. Tickets are available at the
Senior Center.
Thursday. Aug 21. the Sandy Bap
tist Church will host a senior lun­
cheon at the church. Attendance is by
reservation only and there will not be
a Loaves and Fishes meal that day at
the Senior Center.
The August Birthday P arty will be
Tuesday. Aug. 26 at 12:30p.m. follow­
ing the Loaves and Fishes meal and
will include birthday cake and enter­
tainment by the Silvertones.
