Dear Fellow Oregonian
Don't let anyone kid you
You made the difference two years ago when you said your government
was too big and cost too much You will make the difference this election when you
vote for less government spending and lower taxes again
The economic issues facing our country affect each of us individuals and
families, rich and poor, small businesses and huge corporations The very survival of
our nation is at stake We must continue our fight against runaway government
spending, and win it
The problem with the federal government is not a lack of tax revenues It's
a lack of courage to cut federal spending Those of us willing to make the tough
decisions in Washington can change this
I'm proud of my record in Congress Each vote to reduce government
spending and ieduce taxes was cast knowing that was the job Oregonians sent me
here to do Reckless spending and taxing by politicians had our families and
businesses on the brink of financial disaster I know My home my family and my
business are in the heart of our new 5fh Congressional District
Pon t let anyone kid you The economic issues that we have just begun to
address need continued and concentrated attention Your government can t buy its
way into prosperity It tried and we. the taxpayers couldn t afford the disastrous
results you and I. our families, our businesses suffered for it
When you step up to the ballot box in November you can renew your call
for a strong economy, a balanced budget and cuts in federal spending In many
races you will have a clear choice My record backs up my pledge to continue voting
for less governnment spending and to put our government budget on a diet the
taxpayer can afford
We re at a critical juncture in our history as a nation The decisions we
make today will determine the quality of life tor future generations It's a serious
responsibility that we share as citizens
With your support. I will return to Congress and continue our effort to control
spending and restore sound economic opportunity for all Americans
