Group seeks annexation into fire district

For the second time in
two years a group of pro
perty owners near Welches
have requested their pro
perty be annexed into the
Hoodland Rural Fire P ro
tection District
Th e area is sq u a re
shaped and bordered by
V S Forest Service land on
the south and east, and
private land on the north
and west It covers roughly
640 acres, south of Highway
26. and is located near the
junction of Salmon R iver
Road and Welches Road
Known as Section 16 on
official maps, it has 18
s in g le -fa m ily dw elling s
with an estimated popula
tion totaling 30 persons If
annexed, it would provide
about 81.700 of additional
operating funds for the
district
