Illegal fireworks silenced
It was a quiet July 4
weekend as fa r as
emergency calls for the
Sandy Fire District, but
on the fireworks front,
things were popping
Sunday evening fire
district personnel and

youngsters and adults
One 12 year-old was
stopped inside the high
school field with 19 packs
of

firecrackers
Bottle rockets were
taken from a man who
was setting them off in
side the field

came from outside the
annual July 4 festivities
where people above the
field who were shooting
fireworks out over the
field
A man in the October

trunkful of rockets and
other aerial fireworks
taken by fire district of
ficials

The Gresham victims
ranged in age from 1 to
30, with the injuries in
cluding eye damage,
burned fingers and third-
degree burns on the
back
