the past year, making it the
state's highest fire danger
area, according to the

State Forestry department
as well as the Hoodland
Rural Fire District, which
assists in fire suppression.

mer and fall have been at
tributed to a carelessly-
thrown cigarette butt, a
bottle heated by the sun,
and a muffler dragging on
the ground, said Lundblad
Lundblad said the fires in
the area, although they
have never burned any con
siderable portion of land,
have been a headache since
they occur during high fire
hazard times and cost them
in both manpower and
time
This summer Lundblad
said that the state will at
tempt to develop a public
fire prevention effort in the
Cedar Ridge area to help
curb the problems of brush
fires
