Vote on slope amendment set for Monday
by MICHAEL P JONES
Post Cerre»pondrnl
Questions involving pro
p e r n o tific a tio n and
citizens input are being
raised in connection with
Clackamas County Board
of Commissioners approval
of an amendment to allow
development on slopes in
excess of 35 percent
Two participants in the
Feb 22 hearing, where the
commissioners voted two
to one to approve the slope
amendment, are question
ing the legitimacy of the
action, citing the lack of
proper citizen input and
notification, as well as a
misrepresentation of the
vote taken concerning the
change in that ordinance
Marilyn Leslie, a Lolo
Pass homeowner who op
posed the slope amend
ment. said that she has
recently learned that the
commissioner s vote that
taken at the hearing was
actually not a vote at all
She said that the commis
sioners are taking that vote
A pril 12, next Monday,
which would then make the

Leslie said that by the
commissioners taking the

“ citizens were not aware
that this was not the real
vote and did not know that
they had additional time to
give input ”
She said that the vote left
people with the impression
that everything was final
and that the only recourse
was to appeal the amend
ment to the State Land Con
servation and Develop
ment Commission

If there are objections to
