as it sinks
Bill Shockey, a former
Sandy Union High School
student, and his wife, Pat,
lost nearly all their posses
sions Monday when their
yacht-type of boat" sunk
off t ape Cod, Mass
Alice Shockey of Cher­
ryville said Tuesday that her
son and his wife had been liv­
ing in Florida, but traveled
to Massachusetts because a
friend there helped them
work on their boat
They were on their wa>
back to Florida when the
boat started sinking The
Coast Guard rescued them
Mrs Shockey said that the
details are sketchy She said
that they are flying back to
this area soon, and that they
lost everything that they
had. except th at they
managed to rescue their " l i t ­
tle dog "

"active and involved" and
said that anyone over 60
who is interested in the pro­
gram may get further in­
formation by calling her.

Mr Lindsey was born Dec
23, 1922, in Bismark, Mo
When he was nine, his family
moved to Colorado While at­
tending high school, he work
ed to help support his mother
and family
He entered the US. Navy
in 1941 to serve during World
War II After his discharge
in 1945, he moved to Oregon
to work for a short time
before he returned to Col­
orado He married Anna
Mae Williams March 10,
1946
They moved to Sandy in
1949. In 1951 he began his
c a re e r
at
R eynolds
Aluminum Co. in Troutdale
He was employed there until
June 1981
He was a prior member of
the Veterans of Foreign
Wars, a member of the San­
dy Grange No 392 and Good
Shepherd
C o m m u n ity
Church in Boring. He en­
joyed archery, fishing and
hiking
He is survived by his wife,
a daughter. Diana of Boring,
four sons, Raymond of Van­
couver. Wash , and David,
Steven and Alan, all of San­
dy; a brother, Mike of
Aloha, two sisters, Betty
Scott of Colorado and Nina
Copeland of Washington, and
five grandchildren
