Variety of entertainment on tap for county fair

Clackamas County Fair will
feature a variety of enter
tamment and special events
this year
The fair will run Aug 18 22
at the Canby Fairgrounds
Models from Jantzen will
show off turn-of-the-century
swim suits, entertainers will
sing and play old-time songs
and the old time fiddlers will
play their brand of foot
stomping music to celebrate
the Diamond Jubilee Fair
The fairgrounds outdoor
stage will be alive with ac
tion constantly, with shows
slated on the hour, every
hour, from 1 p m until late
evening, according to fair

sified exhibit of textiles at
the 1981 Clackamas County
Fair, Aug 18 22 in Canby
The textile exhibit will be
on display throughout the
fiveday fair in the main
fairgrounds pavilion
Entries for the exhibit will
be accepted Saturday and
Sunday before the fair from
9 a m to 5 p m.
The various classes of
com petition will include
baby a rtic le s, bedroom
linens, textile painting,
towels, table linens, quilts,
ru g s, afg h an s, pillow s,
aprons, sewing, stretch and
sew, children's clothing,
crocheted articles, machine
knitting, hand knitting, hand
weaving, hand spinning,
toys, pictures and wall hang
ings, te x tile n o v e ltie s,

broidery and miscellaneous
categories
There will also be special
categories for handicapped
person, exhibitors 70 years
of age or older, juniors 16
and under and children 14
and under

Burns will be featured in
an opening day presentation
at 5:30 p m . Tuesday, Aug
19, and will put on two shows
each on the final two days of
the fair Robinson has a
similar schedule.
A series of daily fashion
shows, put on by well known
clothing manufacturers, will
be a new feature of the fair's
entertainment program this
year. Kids' Day will be open
ing day. featuring fashions
