Walt Disney movies
He re enlisted in the Navy
in 1940. serving in the 11th
Naval District in San Diego,
C a lif, until 1945 Upon his
discharge he worked in civil
service at Moffet Field in
Sunnyvale, Calif His wife,
Virginia, died in 1967
He moved to the Portland
area in 1970
He is survived by his son,
W illia m
M, Asher of
Brightwood, a sister, Ima
Jean of San Jose, Calif ;
three grandsons, and four
great grandchildren
Burial was at Golden Gate
National Cemetery in San
Bruno, Calif

arrested Arnulfo Salasai. 49.

farm in Boring, for at temp
ted murder,
Masimino Sal tsar, a se­
cond Mexican employee of

reported in serious condition
last Thursday in Gresham
Community Hospital after
the attempted murder.
The sheriff's report said
that farm foreman Santiago
Flores told deputies that one
of the workers was angry
because he did not have a
cabin to himself, and walked
into the cabin where Salisar
was preparing food and stab
bed him
The report said the deputy
found Salasai lying on the
ground behind the cabins
with blood on his clothes He
was treated at Willamette
Falls Hospital in Oregon City
for a broken nose and possi­
ble cheek bone fracture dur
to a fight after the stabbing.

department reports, the vic­
tim. a Portland resident,
signed a citizens arrest
statement a fte r K im ery
a lle g e d ly e nte re d the
victim's vehicle, ransacked
it and attempted to take a CB
radio, while the other two
watched from a nearby vehi­
cle.
Hunt was also arrested on
a first degree theft warrant
from the sheriff's office, the
report said.

were held Saturday at
Forest I-awn Cemetery in
Gresham She died April 29
in a Portland hospital after a
lingering battle with cancer
She was 51.
Born in Shroud. Okla , she
moved to the Newberg area
in 1944 In 1955 she moved to
Eastern Washington before
settling in Sandy in I960
She married Harlan Olson
on Feb. 27, 1961, in Steven­
son, Wash Mrs. Olson owned
and operated a beauty shop
in Sandy
She is survived by her hus­
band, Harlan of Sandy;
three daughters, Carol Zim
merly of Zigzag, Shirley
Reams of Boring and Nancy
Olson of M ilwaukie; his
father, Thomas Thompson of
Sandy; six brothers. Max of
P o rtla n d , Sherm an of
Beaverton, Jack, Oval,
Floyd and Lloyd, all of
Molalla; two sisters, Joyce
Johnson of Portland and
Ruth Cole of Roseburg, and
eight grandchildren

dy. He died in a Portland
hospital April 30 He was 67.
Born in Arma, Kan., he
moved to Texas after he
completed his schooling He
was employed in the con­
struction industry in Texas

Oregon in 1942 where he
began his ca re e r w ith
Reynolds Metals Co in
T ro u td a le , He was a
foreman in the pot rooms He
retired in 1976 after 32 years
with the company
He married Clara Bolar on
Nov. 15, 1946 They lived at
Kelso for a short time before
moving to Sandy Mr Kirby
enjoyed hunting, fishing and
g a rd e n in g . He was a
member of the Gresham
Elks Lodge
He is survived by his wife,
Clara; a daughter. Kay Red­
mon of Rock Springs, Wyo ;
his mother, I^elia Depue in
Kansas; four sisters. W'avie
McKee in Kansas, and Agnes
Surridge, Lois Groff and
B e rn ic e K in g , a ll in
Oklahoma; two brothers,
Gordon and Delbert, both in
Kansas, and two grand
children

Sand> emergency medical personnel attempt lifesaving treatment for a
Portland man after he had suffered an apparent heart attack while driv­
ing. Glenn Gilbert Turner. M2, was driving west on Highway 26 about one
mile east of Sandy when he collapsed about 10:43 a m. Friday. The car left
the road and crashed into a tree. He was pronounced dead on arrival at
(¡resham Community Hospital.
