During the past few weeks. I have been beseiged
with letters from around the country praising the
various network progiams. I d like to share some of
them with you .this week
REAL PEOPLE
" I'd like to thank you for your nice words on 'Real
People ' I would like to point out that Real People'
has indeed been getting very impressive Neilsen
ratings We have beaten Eight Is Enough four times
so far, and we beat the CBS show consistently We
have done better than any other show NBC has put
up against Eight Is Enough, and I am quite confident
that before the year ends, we will be .»head of 'Eight
Is Enough' quite frequently At least we can hope As
to whether 'Real People will be on the air a year from
now, no one can tell You m entioned that it would be
an upset if we were, and I agree However, no one ever
thought that we would do as well as we re doing except
those of us involved in the show who believe that there
must be some place on television where the little guy
gets equal time, and where the American Eccentric can
receive the love and affection that has been withheld
from them so long Also. I'd like tor it to stay on
another year ’cause I need the money!'
George
Schlatter, Producer Real People’
The tunny-looking kid' singing ‘funny sounding rockabilly
songs' is soon taken very seriously and hailed as ‘The King'
when Kurt Russell stars as Elvis Presley in ELVIS, an
affectionate biography of the American hero, which will have
a special encore showing on ABC-TV's 'The ABC Monday Night
Movie,' Feb 25

LOU GRANT
"As a hereditary medicine man of the Creek

on the professional way they handled the Indian issue
It was handled with a great deal of sensitivity I can
only hope that the people involved were really
conscious of the impact of what was stated by the
program " — Jim Two-Robbins Mariposa, Calif.

TEN SPEED AND BROWN SHOE
" ‘ Ten Speed and Brown Shoe' was super My
husband and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
The shoot-out in the church was funny, and having the
stars use their hands as weapons makes the show
more enjoyable "
Doris J. Schreck Ft Leavenworth,
Kansas
" I saw the airing of Ten Speed and Brown Shoe '
I thought both actors were really good in the show
It kept my interest throughout the entire showing I
thought Brown Shoe's |Jeff Goldblurn| temper and his
self protection were particularly humorous and very
well carried out " — Elbert I. Conner Alton, Va.
