shrivel and drop. McNeilan
warns
After the poinsettia has
been in the house for three
weeks or so. soluble fertilizer
can be added to the water

through the year and with
special attention made to
bloom again. They can be
kept as houseplants until the
danger of frost has passed
and then put outside for the

flower, which is a small
green button in the middle of
the red b ra c t If the flower is
tight and green rather than
expanded and yellow, the
plant will last longer.

mix
10 to 12 pound turkey

1 cup chopped onion
cup pitted ripe olives,
quartered
*6 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon ground thyme

Prepare and bake cornbread mix as package directs. Cool.
Rinse turkey; pat dry. Rub salt and pepper into neck and
body cavities. Secure drumsticks lightly with a string Roast
uncovered on roasting rack in 325 degree men 2u to 22
minutes per pound or until meat thermometer inserted in
thigh registers 180 to 185 degrees
Meanwhile, coarsely crumble cornbread into a large bowl.
Saute celery, onion and olives in butter. Add thyme, V. tea
spoon -»alt and pecans. Add celery mixture to cornbread;
toss lightly. Add chicken broth, mixing until moistened.
Turn mixture into a buttered 2‘/ j quart casserole or baking
dish.
When turkey is done, remove from oven and let »land 30
minutes before carving Increax oven temperature to 350
degrees. Cover cornbread casserole and bake 25 minutes.
Uncover and bake 10 minutes longer.
