Boring man jailed, fugitive arrested
Chris Sparks, 18, of Boring,
was arrested Friday night by
Sandy police and issued nine
citations, including driving
while under the influence of
in to x ic a tin g liquors, at­
tempting to elude police and
reckless driving.
Sparks was operating a
1970 Dodge sedan on
Pleasant Street between
Strauss Street and Ten Eyck
Road. His vehicle reportedly
caused damage to three
parked cars and to yards and
s tru ctu re s on adjoining
property.
Sparks was ja ile d in
Oregon C ity
and was
released on bail awaiting
trial.
A 17-year-old fugitive was
arrested on a Multnomah
County warrant Friday and
charged with robbery. He
was jailed in Clackamas
County and turned over to
Multnomah county officials.
He is being held on $50,000
bail.

driving a 1972 white and
green Plymouth took 22
gallons of gasoline from
Smith’s Chevron on Proctor
Boulevard Thursday. The
man entered the station at
2:40 a m. and asked the
attendant to fill his tank. The
suspect then drove away
without paying for the fuel,
which was valued at $16.50
Mar Hook Co. on 362nd
Ave. reported vandalism
Friday between 8 and 11 a m.
Employees discovered that a
vehicle had driven through a
chain link fence surrounding
the plant, causing an
estimated $500 in damage
Car parts left behind in­
dicated a Ford four-wheel
drive vehicle caused the
damage.

reported the theft of a 22
caliber rifle from his pickup

parking lot on Mei nig Avenue
while Founds was eating in a
nearby restaurant. The gun
was valued at $90

Three juveniles, ages 14,15
and 17, were cited for
crim inal trespassing Thurs­
day when they were found m
a vacant house on Proctor
Boulevard during the high
school’s lunch period The
boys were returned to the
school fo r fu rth e r dis­
ciplinary action.

FISHING FUN brought smiles to the faces of many tots at a
special kids' day last Saturday in Oddfellows Hall, as did
many other free games. Some 200 eager children reeled in
1000 prizes during the two-hour funfest sponsored by Sandy
Area Merchants. This youngster pulled in a prize at the other
end of the line.

schedules Christmas ball

be held tonight (Dec. 21) at
C la c k a m a s C o m m u n ity
College sponsored by the Mt.
Hood Council of Camp Fire.
The dance w ill feature live
music, free refreshments
and holiday cheer for teens
and adults. Music w ill be
provided by a grant from the
Music Performance Trust
Fund and the Camp Fire
Council.
Admission to the dance is
free.

Parlor, a day of sledding at
