spice Kiwanis Fly-in
Rain failed to dampen the spirits of
the 1,100 people attending the Kiwanis
Fly-in Breakfast at Rich’s Airport last
weekend, although it did cut down on
some of the activities planned
Most things went according to
schedule, however, as people chowed
down for a worthy cause. Pancakes,
eggs, ham, juice and coffee were
consumed, and according to Sandy
Kiwanis Club Treasurer Don Deming,
“ everybody seemed satisfied and there
were a lot that came back for refills.''
The aerobatic display was cancelled
due to the bad weather, but 191 people
took advantage of the airplane rides
offered by local pilots.
Other folks that remained grounded

attending the Fly-in Breakfast. (ABOVE L E F T ) Airborn vehicles of
all types appeared at Rich’s Airport as pilots from all over the state
attended. (ABOVE R IG H T ) Accordian music and airplane films
entertained folk during the breakfast. (BELOW R IG H T) An antique
car and airplane display highlighted the events for those who wished
to remain on the ground. Airplane rides were offered to the daring.

within the Shelter of an airplane hanger.

No figures were available as to how
much the charity breakfast raised, but
things went as well as could be ex
pected considering the conditions,
Deming said.
A number of pilots from around the
state flew into the breakfast, although,
the figure was cut short from last
year’s total due to the rain.
This was the 21st year the Kiwanis
Club has held the breakfast and
ironically it is the first year it has
rained
