by Larry LaMarsh, a
husband and wife team with
theatrical experience at
Spokane’s Civic Theater It
was freely adapted from the
classic fairy tale by Sandy
eighth grader Rob Lawson,
who also plays the Beast, and
Linda Crockett, a local
woman.
Along with Lawson, the
play stars Pam Cansler also
a Sandy eighth grader, as
Beauty. Also in the cast are
Eric Hadley, Mark Hadley,
Matt
Madison. Cheryl
Mcllwain, Lisa Sheppard,
Mike Sheppard,
Kelly
S p ra d lin g ,
Shannon
Spradling, Dave Stafford,
Melissa Waters and Michele
Waters.
This fanciful production
features dance routines,
period costumes, a swash
buckling swordfight, en
chanted trees and bushes
that talk, and an evil witch
who casts a magic spell on a
handsome prince, turning
him into a hideous beast.
There is no admission
charge, but donations will be
accepted.

worth of general obligation
bonds for the Sandy
Elementary School District.
The hank bid jointly with
Blyth Eastman Dillon & Co.,
Inc in association with a
number of other bidders
Proceeds of this bond issue
will be used to construct a
new elem entary school
district on some Kelso area
property presently owned by
the district and a new wing to
the Eirwood School.
These bonds m ature
serially from April I. 1979. to
April 1. 1996, inclusive, with
an effective rate of 5.532
percent
