The Sandy Senior Center
staff has requested that those
who do take advantage of the
work provide transportation for
the
handymen— if passible

Committee sets
July 22 meeting
The
Citizen
Involvement
Advisory Committee (CIAC) of
the Land Conservation and
D evelop m ent
Com m ission
(LCDC) will hold its next
meeting on July 22, 1977.
One of the purposes of the
meeting will be to review the
effectiveness of citizens in­
volvement in comprehensive
planning
in
the
CRAG
(Columbia River Association of
Governments) area Comments
concerning citizen involvement
in the CR A G region a re
welcome
CIAC was created in 1973 by
the state legislature. Its pur­
pose is to insure citizen input in
decision made by the LCDC,
which was formed to coor­
dinate comprehensive plan
ning in the state
CIAC Is composed of 20
c itize n
m em bers
from
throughout Oregon who make
recommendations to the LCDC
on a wide range of public
issues CIAC made several
contributions to the wording of
LCDC’« citizens involvement
goal.
CIAC regularly reviews city
and county program to insure
that citizen’s rights are being
recognized throughout plan­
ning decisions The committee
is now seeking to identify both
problems and successes in
citizen involvement on plan­
ning programs
In the July 22 meeting, citizen
involvement in Sandy, Barlow.
Molalla and other small towns

The program, known as the
Sandy Senior Center Summer
Service Handyman Project, is
being offered free of charge to
senior citizens who need work
done and can’t afford to have it
done or aren't able to do It
themselves
