Justice named to committee
Jerry Justice, assistant to the
Clackamas County Board of
Commissioners, has been
tabbed to represent the
Municipal
Water
Advisory
Committee on Drought in
Governor Straub's newly
formed Industry Advisory
Committee on Drought.
Justice
described
the
governor's new committee as
an attempt to get industry input
concerning water conservation
measures.
"Straub seeks to get people
involved in the decision making
process,” Justice told The
Post, "with an emphasis on

voluntary commitment» "
The new com m ittee is
composed chiefly of major
industrial representative».
Justice said his chief role will
be to identify the types of
situations industry proposals
could create for municipal
water districts.

DONNA WOJCIK, author of the book
"Brazen Overlander» of 1845," will be a
guest speaker at a Tuesday. April 26, noon
meeting of the Sandy Area Chamber of
Commerce. The book is the story of the
1845 migration from the Missouri River
west to Oregon and California and
documents the beginnings of the Barlow
Road. In the book all but 16 of the
emigrants are named in an alphabetical
roster along with where and when most
were born, married, settled and died. Mrs.
Wojcik, who lives in Portland, will have
copies of the book available at the
Chamber meeting at Foothills Inn. The
public is invited to attend. Mrs. Wojcik
was also a guest at the recent Sandy
Library Tea.
