Concert becomes annual gift from Sandy Baptist Chapel The second annual “ Christmas Gift to the Com munity” music concert will be held in the Sandy High School Auditorium at 7:30 Saturday evening. Dec 11. Tins year, the Sandy Baptist Chapel, sponsors of the “ Christmas Gift," have invited the Salem Singers, Jack and Judy Bevelaqua and the Joy Bells to take part in the con cert Admission is free and there will be no offering received. The Salem Singers is one of the Northwest s finest choral groups For 25 years the Singers have logged thousands of miles to perform hundreds of concerts They have appeared on radio and television and have produced a number of record albums E arlier this year, they spent 16 days singing in the Orient The 24 men in volved represent ten to twelve different denominations and a wide variety of occupations. Jack and Judy Bevelaqua are a young couple gaining an appreciative audience in the Eastmont area They specialize in a contemporary folk sound. The Joy Bells is a trio of Sandy area ladies who attend the Sandy Baptist Chapel. Add: 2 cups whole candied cherries 1 cup candied pineapple (4 slices) cut into large chunks 2 cups pecan halves 14 cups whole pitted dates 2 cups Brazil nuts. Carolers to visit area homes The Christmas season as a time of goodwill be emphasized by members of the Sandy Seventh-day Adventist Church staring on Sautrday with their annual Christmas caroling visits. Members of the church will be visiting Sandy area residents and will collect funds which w ill be used for missionary work and buying goods for those in need. The carolers will also present listeners with a booklet about the Seventh-day Adventist faith. A portion of the funds received will be used the Community Services of the Sandy Seventh-day Adventist Church, which is part of the world wide service providing food, clothing and health care in nearly 200 countries. Retired educators set executive board meeting An executive board meeting of the Barlow Trail Retired Educators Unit 23 will be held on Monday, Dec 15, at 2 p.m. The meeting will be held in the home of Ruth Baum back. At the last meeting of the group Nov. 17, the retired educators heard Dan McDonald speak on the theme of community involvement. Holiday cookies were served by hostesses Ethal Sutherland, Thayus Parmenter and M.Ttle Johnson at that meeting.
