Let stand 15 minutes Cream margarine; add 1 cup sugar slowly until fluffy. Add salt. Beat eggs with milk. M ix well. Stir in yeast Stir in fruit and flour to make soft dough. Place in greased bowl. Sandy F R U IT C A K E (Exceptionally good) 1 pound pkg. glazed fruits (fruitcake mixture) cup raisins, light ■i cup raisins, dark % cup nuts 2 cups flour Mz teaspoon salt 2 Cggs 4 tablespoons shortening or butter 1 cup boiling water l teaspoon soda 1 cup sugar l teaspoon vanilla 3 oz. red raspberry wine, whiskey, or brandy pound dates, chopped Put all fruit into 1 cup boiling water. Cream butter, sugar and eggs Sift dry ingredients 4 times. Add fruit mixture and flour alternately. Beat just enough to mix. Add brandy, vanilla and nuts Bake in a lu m in u m loaf fo il pans greased and floured for 60 -70 minutes. When cool remove and w rap in plastic bag. CREAM CHEESE CHRISTMAS CAKE 8oz cream cheese Mi pound margarine 1*4 cups sugar 1 4 teaspoons vanilla ■»eggs 2* 4 cups flour 1 Mz teaspoons baking powder 1 cup candied fruit *i cup chopped pecans *2 cup chopped walnuts Blend cheese, margarine, sugar and vanilla Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition Add 2 cups flour that has been sifted with baking powder Combine Mi cup flour with fruits and nuts and fold into batter Grease tube pan and sprinkle w ith fin ely chopped nuts Pour into pan.
