Six visitors attended the
Monday meeting, Covey said

handling logs in Oregon waters,
and proposed adoption of rules

perimental alternative systems

Aug. 7 at the Canby home of
their director, Mrs Dave
Brown.

Club, was among those at­
tending
On display were the district's
prize-winning bird scrapbooks,
horticultural essays and a civic
development project which
received recognition at the
state convention in June.

Youth dies
when troctor
overturns
A Damascus youth was killed
and an Sandy youth injured
Aug 13 when a tractor over­
turned.
Lee Arthur Drake, 19, of
Damascus was towing a trailer
for a church hayrack ride when
the rig apparently jackknifed,
overturning the tractor, ac­
cording to the Clackamas
County medical examiner's
report
Drake was pinned under the
tractor He died at about 9:30
p m at Gresham Community
Hospital.
Dean G ille tte of Sandy
received an arm injury in the
accident
The ride was for 52 members
of the Damascus Community
youth group Drake and Gillette
belonged to the group
