Home pruning will be the
topic of a free workshop at
C la c k a m a s
C o m m u n ity
College, from 7 to 10 p.m.,
Wednesday, Jan. 23.
Wilbur Burkhart, area ex­
tension agent, will lead the
workshop In Room 117 of the
Community Center Building
How to select and use tools,
and methods of pruning will be
covered In the discussion, with
special emphasis on fruit trees
and cane fruits. A question and
answer tim e also w ill be
provided.
The workahop will deal with
the "basic pruning principles,
the reasons for p ru n in g ,"
Burkhart said "We will talk
about the techniques, appraisal
and working with plants to help
them grow In the desired
manner, as opposed to chop­
ping them and working against
the plants' growth.”
The Wednesday evening
lecture will be followed by
actual
dem onstration
of
techniques in the field, at 8 a.m.
Satirday, Jan. 28. The site will
be announced at the Wed­
nesday workshop
