FIRW OOD SCHOOL NEWS Most of ua were “on deck” when school recovened Jan. 2. Faculty vacations varied from quite exciting to very prosaic, but all were enjoyable One of the moat colorful was enjoyed by David Beem, who spent the entire vacation in M exico, and brought back various souvenirs as reminders of his good time. Margaret Wallen spent a very restful time in Hawaii, took several tours to points of interest. Both Tom Elliott and Gary Albers spent the holidays in Colorado Both drove without experiencing much difficulty. Gary said the worst was in Oregon as he was getting back home Caroline Salaeth and her husband drove to visit relatives in southern California. John Hall also visited in California—San Francisco and Barstow Eleanor Wagner’s parents fro m N ebraska spent the holidays with her. Becky Edy and her husband spent four days in Seattle. Donna Salsbury spent the time with her parents in Oak Ridge and went skiing in the Willamette Paaa. Another who enjoyed skiing was Ruth Jensen, who got a new pair of skis for Christmas. Buhler» had company for Christmas dinner; visited his parents in Hood River. Meldalene Smith had com­ pany dinners several times d trin g vacation. Z a ra R ichey worked in several rounds of golf along with cooking company dinners. Lynette Fast, who was ill a few days before vacation, was ill for a week of vacation. She made wire spool mushroom table and chairs for her school room, which the children enjoy using for reading, checkera, etc. Lois Harding spent a restful vacation, but spent quite a bit of tim e cooking. Joyce Burdick cooked fam ily Christmas dinner. Her children went skiing, and she went along to watch. She intends to take up the sport. Donna Carline was another who enjoyed the ski slo p « during vacation.
