“ You don’t have to be a
mother to be a Camp Fire
leader, you just have to enjoy
young people” says Arlene
Meehan, executive director of
Mt. Hood Council of Camp Fire
Girls.
The career woman can find it
very rewarding to take over the
leadership of a group. "It's
good for the ego” she smiled.
“ 'Oiey will immediately feel
the respect and interest of these
youngsters who enjoy the
friendship of a young adult.”
If you are a mother you don’t
have to be the mother of girls.
Those who have a brood of
boys can find it refreshing to be
with girls for a change
Mrs. Meehan emphasized
that you don’t even have to be a
woman. More and more dads
across the coiaitry are learning
the joy of Camp Fire leader
