Clackamas County is one of the counties elig ib le for disaster assistance. Daniel B. Ward, regional director, SBA, said that loan applications had fallen off sharply in the last few days. Last week, he said, very few applications were filed “Any person who, for one reason or another, has been unable to complete his loan application should make an effort to do so as quickly as possible. Our offices in Port land, Spokane, Boise and Seattle are able to give in d ividu al assistance where needed, and will be glad to help with any unusual problems some persons m ay have regarding preparation of an application,” Ward said. The regional director said that SBA had approved 97 disaster loan totaling 8471,605 in the three states as of Feb. 18. He is survived by a daughter, Johnie Anderson and six grandchildren, all of Sandy If we weren’t able to borrow money to buy big items such as cars and homes, very few of us would be able to make much progress. It’s really just the same with your telephone company. For example, we couldn’t provide you with the kind of telephone service you want today if we couldn’t borrow money. We borrow for the same reasons you borrow. We want to improve. And we don’t have enough money if we just use our monthly income. Most of that goes to daily operating expenses. Borrowing gives us the means to keep telephone service progressing. Of course, like you, we can’t get a loan without a balanced budget; without income and expenses in line. So just as you do, our telephone company sometimes works for increases in our income to match increasing expenses and keep our budget balanced. When we ask tor income increases, we’re asking for the chance to get credit. For, with a little credit, we can go a long way toward maintaining and improving your telephone service Continental Telephone of the Northwest A Member of Continental Telephon« SyPem Dad's club set meeting The Sandy Union High School Dad’s Club meeting will be held Monday, March 24 In the high school library at 7:30 p.m. At this meeting the group will decide on scholarship avards and whether or not to hold the Annual Awards Banquet Both the banquet and the scholar ships have been important projects of the club in the past.
