A V E R Y SERIOUS MISHAP that had a happy ending was the
four wheel drive trip taken by the Dennie Fitzwater family of
Wildwood. Dennie and Joanne, along with daughter Tina and their
guest Ted Wright, Brightwood, took the trip. They were testing
their vehicle for off road driving and decided to drive across and
through Still Creek. They were making good progress when they
were caught and stuck in the middle by high water. Dennie
climbed out the window into the raging stream and Joanne
handed Tina out the window and Dennie took her ashore, he then
returned for Joanne. In the meantime, Ted the more adventurous i
one of the group, had climbed out the window and onto the roof,
where he calmly removed his clothing down to his shorts. He
rolled them neatly and threw them to shore. He then plunged into
the icy stream and made his way to the bank, dressed in his dry
clothing, none (he worse except cold.
Kappy ending w as Dial A1 Ruse with Ills heavy duty Low uuck
was able to save the vehicle.
