Add shortening and egg; m ix well. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, soda and brown sugar. Add to firs t m ixture and mix until dampened. From Borden's Eagle Brand Condensed M ilk I recently got this good recipe MAGIC FRUITCAKE 2 4 cups sifted all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 eggs, slightly beaten 1 can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed M ilk Twoand two-third cups (28 oz. ja r) ready-to-use mincemeat 2 cups (1 Lb. ja r) mixed candied fru it 1 cup walnut meats, coarsely chopped Butter a 9-in. tube or spring- form pan Line w ith waxed paper. B u tte r again. S ift together flour and baking soda Set aside in large-size bowl. Combine eggs, sweetened condensed m ilk, mince meat, fru its and nuts; m ix well. Fold in sifted dry ingredients.
