    6 - GRESHAM (Ore ) OUTLOOK Thur» . March 1, 1973 (Sec 4)
Skilled men, fine machines promise best
A good idea deserves to be
made permanent
That's why we have printers
This is where The Outlook
printing department can be of
help We've got some experts
who put special emphasis on
what you have to say by
making it attractive and easy
to read
Printing has an old and
historic tradition And with it
comes an uree for perfection
Whatever your printing need
The Outlook is prepared to get
the job done
Start with Tom Henderson,
shop manager He can help if
you need suggestions on how
the job can be more attractive
The kind of paper used,
advisability of color and other
important decisions can be
determined before the job is
started
Tom is thoroughly qualified
in this field He is a printer
himself. On top of that he is an
educated person with a degree
from the University of Oregon
There's an expert on layout in
The Outlook She is Velma
Lown who can help design your
print job, lay it out and paste it
up ready for the cameras
Virtually all print jobs in The
Outlook shop are offset, that
means done with camera
However, there is one old
platen press for special work It
is a reminder of how far the
printing trade has come in
recent years
Offset printing has many
advantages over the old hot
metal process Designs can be
more flexible, color separation
easier and more accurate And
perhaps most convenient,
changes can be made and
corrections inserted w ith
greater ease
The Outlook shop can answer
the challenge for any printing
assignment Take it to Tom He
can help in choosing paper
stock appropriate for the job
This is an important factor in
the attractiveness of the
finished product
Also the stock is especially
important when more than one
color of ink is used
When it comes to color-
printing The Outlook takes a
special pnde because it has the
right kind of equipment to do
the job right Then there is
pressman Vince Uhlig who can
make the color register come
out to perfection
which is toward the rear of the
building
The
Outlook
prints
everything from business cards
Io magazines, brochures and
books A number of businesses
use the Outlook to pnnt their
m onthly
house
organ
publication
You'll like the way the job is
done and the way you are
