Nell’s Notes
By NELL HOWE
Hood-Land Reporter
Two more break-ins hap
pened that I know about Dr
Short's place in Welches and
M r and Mrs Bryces, across
from the Short’s
The
Doctor
had
an
emergency call last week in the
evening and Esther decided to
go in with him No one. sup
posedly. knew thev were going
E vid e n tly
someone
was
watching.
It makes a guy leery about
even going to the store As if
there is a watch-bird watching
you. I don’t care for it at all
Shelby Davis took off for the
store last week, got pan wav
down Lolo Pass Road and the
car died Nothing would start it
One of his friendly neighbors
towed him down to Zig Zag
Store Wendell proceeded to
investigate the problem, and
found out what was WTong
Shelby had left his air cleaner
off because it started easier in
the cold A family of mice had
moved in and built a nest in his
carburetor The family of mice
will bother no one again, and
Shelby will leave his air filter
on after this It is amazing what
will move in with you when it
gets cold
Congratulations to Sharon
and Pat Waits on the birth of
their daughter. Lisa Renee. 7
lb 11 oz and 214 inches long
Mother and daughter are doing
fine, the father is holding up
well also
Those
two
grinning
characters you see around, are
Pat and Eastel Brewer the
proud grandparents, boy are
they proud. Pat rushes home on
her lunch hour to get in an extra
hour of spoiling
So very sorry to hear of the
passing of Gladys Perkins
brother. Leo Rypczinski There
are still a few of us left on the
mountain that remember Leo
He passed away at his home in
Milwaukie last Friday after
noon from a heart attack
Our very deepest sympathy to
the fam ily
Was so terribly shocked to
hear of the sudden passing of
J e rry McAndie Andy and
Jerry have been living in
Redmond where Andy is head
of the Smoke Jumpers School
for the Forest Service They
had previously been stationed
at Zig Zag for several years
They are both very special
people, as far as this family is
concerned, and we will miss
Jerry so very much Our very
deepest sympathy to Andy and
family, and to Jerrys parents.
M r and Mrs Cecil Daimler
and family.
At this writing, I am still not
ready for Christmas so haven’t
had time to go out and dig up
very much to talk about
Juanita sends her greetings
from Alicante, Spain Where
the sun is shining, and they will
exchange gifts on Jan 6, the
same as in Mexico
A very Merry Christmas and
the
Happiest
and
Most
Prosperous of New Years to
each and every one of the
wonderful people on the
mountain, and elsewhere that
do me the honor of reading this
column
