Garden, a community garden
jointly sponsored by Mt. Hood
Community College and the
Peoples Action Council, have
been completed.
The
garden,w hich
is
available at no co6t to any
person or fam ily interested,
consists of plots on ten acres of
ground out by MHCC.
According to N'elda Oeser,
the community organiers of
‘The Place” located at 274 S.
Roberts in Gresham, the people
who plant a garden tend it and
get to keep whatever grows
Seeds fo r the project are
available at "The Place” and
were donated by the Harris
Seed Company.

program s fo r low income
families
“The Place” is also offering a
course in food canning for any
Mondays,
Tuesdays,
and
Wednesdays starting on June 26
at 9 a m About 5-7 people will
be able to take the course each

279, was shot through the head
with a 375 Magnum pistol at his

The bullet hit him in one
