Where or where is the sand
man. Could make a song out of
that. Don't know what they do
with all that sand in the shed at
Sandy, but the State is certainly
not using very much of it on the
highway. Coming home in the
evening, or going in early in the
morning, have yet to find any
sand to help keep you on the
road. From the amount of cars
in the dtiches between here and
Sandy, people besides myself
have become very aware of the
fact. From Zig Zag east on the
highway is always well sanded,
but they certainly have been
lax about it on the lower end.
Maybe it is their way of telling
us to stay off the highway.
Don't have to tell us, we just
slide off anyway.
It is bad enough to have to
travel that bumpy, chuck hole,
mess they have from Bright
wood to Alder Creek without
having to fight the ice also. No
wonder the head of the con
struction company took off for
Palm springs He didn't want to
be found, no doubt If he
wonders how I knew where he
is, I happen to have a friend
that is a very good friend of his.
Not that it has done the high
way any good, but at least 1 can
keep track of where he is.
Sneaky, aren’t I?
Emma Wheeler spent a week
in bed fighting off the flu bug
She is up and around now, but a
bit on the puny side. Take it
easy Emma, we are all pulling
for you.
Kent Blaisdell got knocked
down by the flu bug, and was
running a very high tem
perature Said his head hurt so
bad that when the sun came
peeking out and shone on his
head even that hurt. He is
improving. We are pulling for
him also. I wonder just how
many types of flu there are
anyway No one seems to have
the same symptoms, and
everyone seems to have their
own special recovery plan.
Some recover shortly, some
take longer, and some don’t
really get put down at all, just
feel, yuck. Must keep the
doctors on their toes.
George Staggs in the hospital
for surgery, and we hope he is
home by the time you read this.
We are all wishing George a
speedy recovery.
Everyone seems to be back
on their feet after New Years
Eve Another kind of flu, called
Mountain Flu, that seems to
occur only after Holidays We
were in bed early New Years
Eve, as 5:30 a m. comes
awfully early in the morning
However, that didn't seem to
bother some idiot that ran up
and down the Welches road
blaring his horn at midnight, or
the other one on a cycle that
raced his motor up and down
the road for a time Just have to
have their fun, which, for some
reason, I didn't appreciate.
There are some people that do
have to work on holidays, and
my one and only, happened to
be one of them on New Year’s
Day.
Guess we all celebrate in our
own fashion Anyhow, hope the
year works out to be just what
you all had wished for
