Arts and crafts move
to renovated bus shed
This year's bus shed w ill be
next year’s arts and crafts
room at Sandy High School.
The bus shed is being
remodeled to make space for
several new rooms. Additional
rooms to be added include a
main room, rest rooms and
rooms for resources, fire arts,
kiln and storage space.
According to Sandy High
School Superintendent Charles
Croston, $26,000 has been
budgeted for the project. He
said the work is being done on a
“ tim e and materials" budget
whereby some materials are
bought by the school and they
pay people for labor.
Gary Connelly, art teacher,
has been working on the project
with students Dave Kitchen and
Dan Dahren, a 1971 graduate.
Croston said Aladin Electric
and Peterson Plumbing are
also working on the new rooms.
Jack Freberg, Sandy, did the
masonry work.
The new arts and crafts room
w ill have 3,600 square feet. It
was started about three weeks
ago
and completion
is
scheduled for Aug. 1.
Croston said no definite
decision has been made on
where to keep the buses. Two
sites have been suggested but
he was not sure where they
would finally be kept.
