Kids learn science in college program Local area youngsters are sharing an exciting learning experience this summer at Mt Hood Community College The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and Mt Hood Community College are co-sponsoring a summer youth science program for children ages 4 through 15 in four two- week sessions Field trips, microscope use, movies, visits to the college p lanetarium , classroom in ­ struction and a vast array of other activities make for an entertaining, educational and busy two w eeks for the youngsters Children meet with other youngsters their own age in order to gain maximum benefit from the program Each of the four sessions cover slightly different areas so students are encouraged to enroll in more than one session. The second session in the OMSI-Mt. Hood sc ien ce program begins July 5. Children meet Monday through Friday from 9-11 a m. for a two- week period. W hatever the reason - preparation for future science classes or "just for the fun of it” - the OMSI-MHCC summer youth science program is a great way to spend some summer mornings.
