The big surprise was really sorta on both of them Dorothy had very carefully called a few friends and family, asking them just to drop in last Thursday evening at 8 p.m. Louis came home from work that day and asked Dorothy to go out to dinner, but she in formed him that she had everything ready for dinner and would just as soon stay home. So he said he would call Pat and Rudy to come down for dinner. Dorothy insisted that they probably had already eaten, but Louis just knew they hadn’t cause he had just left Pat when he came home. So he called. Poor Rudy didn't know how to answer After all Dorothy had told them to be there at 8 p.m. and Louis wanted them to come BRIGHTWOOD OIL CO. So she dug out the ham which she had fixed for the evening, plus the relish tray, and they dined excellently. The Blaisdells and us showed up just as they were finishing dinner, in the meantime, Louis had called Clyde and Tula to ask them down but th e ir daughter informed Louis that Mom and Dad had gone to a party. They showed up very shortly. After everything got all squared away, we all settled down to a most enjoyable evening. That is what I would call a honest and truly surprise party. Dorothy said that next year she thinks she w ill just invite everybody to dinner, it would be a heck of a lot easier, and a lot less confusing. There must be all kinds of things going on around here, but no one has called to tell me about them. Lots of breaking in and robberies going on. Its a fine Hoodland On The Go C.C.D. The building has often been referred to as the “ Women’s Club Building", perhaps un fortunately, but more likely by association as it was the Womens Club that was formed s p e cifica lly to see th a t a recreation building and park be created and it was through their efforts that they arranged with the county for land and for the county matching funds raised by the Womens Club projects. This park building has the unusual distinction of growing by the actual donations of time and money by our local citizens who actually use the facilities rather than complete support by tax money from a general area. Because of our close association with the actual fo rm ing of this park, the Womens Club has elected to continue to keep the building open on a temporary basis using their own funds. The Auction planned for July 4, with Country Store and preview on July 3, w ill continue as planned. Now more than ever we need your con tributions of saleable items, large and small. Please contact Lois Rice or Florence Simmons to arrange your delivery Also a Rummage Sale w ill be held July 10 at the Sandy Womens Club building. Better to be safe than sorry. Keep your eyes open, and report any strange truck or vans in front of your friends and neighbors. Maybe we will get lucky and catch them yet. Certainly hope so. Drove up Lolo Pass Road, just to see if the drifts were gone, and they are. The Rhodo's and Squaw Grass are beautiful, and the Indian Paint Brush is out, plus the Wild Currant is just starting to bloom What with the Vine Maple just breaking out in their lovely shade of light green it was a loverly drive. If it hadn’t been so late we would have driven over to see if we could drive into Lost Lake from this side. MT.
