Parson’s Pink China was also

Moschata to produce the
Champney rose which was the
forerunner of the Noisettes.
Thus we have also a fresh in
troduction of musk blood into
the long line of evolution of the
modem rose.
In these two crosses the size
and vigor of the musk parent is
obvious, but, as in the ancient
cross, the flowering charac
teristics are hidden. The scent
is there but the huge trusses of
flowers are replaced by fewer
flowers. This is made up for by
the size and doubleness of the
Noisettes and Bourbon flowers.
It is in our present century
that the musk rose was again
used in hybridizing the rose. It
is these last hybrids, widely
outcrossed with a variety of
types or classes, that are
luiown as Musk Hybrids. These
are alike in that they are large
bushes with huge trusses of
flowers as in the Musk parent.
But here the similarity ceases.
They have taken on individual
flower characteristics that
reflect all rose ancestry
One can only guess at what
roses were used to produce
these hybrids. The small
flowered single. Wind Chimes,

The future of the Sandy area
will be discussed in the June 29

Association
of
Governments (CRAG) will be a

discuss what has been
forcast by his group for the
future of Sandy.
During the meeting this week
at T.J.’s the Chamber mem
bers stated interest in the
proposed property tax in
Multnomah County on the
transfer of property.
Ned Dyal reported to the
