They all have personal phone numbers to call for con versation. Also you obtain burning permits from the Zig Zag Ranger Station not, 1 repeat, not the fire department. I hope this helps to clarify the situation. I realize that most of the calls have been from week enders, not residents, but thought maybe this would alert some of them. Keith Bowman called to ask for a notice to be put in that the Chamber of Commerce Dinner, for today, May 27th, has been cancelled There seems to be too many conflicting dates set for this day and the Chamber thought it would be better to cancel their dinner for this evening and settle on a more convenient date later. It seems that I inadvertently left out Nancy Spencers name By NELL H O W E H ood-Land Reporter from the Girl Scout trip to Wind Mountain The other leaders brought this to my attention, and I do apologize Nancy had even borrowed a larger car so she could take a group of girls to the site, plus staying and assisting the other leaders. Thelma Riggs had a very unhappy home coming from her trip to Hawaii. She had spent 5 weeks in Hawaii with her daughter and son-in law and grandson. Mr and Mrs. A1 Maida and son Richy When she arrived home it was to a very empty house. Someone had broken into her home and had her color TV, her stereo, her radio, electric blanket, bed spread, curtain from her closet, a brand new wall to wall car peting for the bathroom, her sewing machine, hanging lamps, all her silverware, most of her dishes, 2 watches, costume jewelry, all her area rugs, etc, etc. Two tables and two chairs. Someone was setting up housekeeping and decided to let Thelma supply the m er chandise. So if you have new neighbors and they seem to have an unusual supply of excellent furnishings it might until the tournament is over and they get the final results in August to see if they can hang on to that lead The fact that they won. even if only for the one evening, is quite a feather in their cap The bowlers are Dianne Peterson, Lex Secomb, Vi Collier and Clarene Smith. As they had to have a five man team for the tournament they had Carolyn Duff fill in for the extra team members . We are pulling for them to come out on top. Especially the kids. It’s sorta like starting out on a whole new life. Our very best wishes for the future for the entire bunch. Our daughter-in-law had a birthday last Sunday and the whole family came up for the big day. Even the day cooperated for us, it was great. Tuesday last, was our daughter, Janices’ birthday, so we sort of combined the two. Congratulations to the Zig Zag Inn Bowling team. They bowled last Saturday night in Eugene, at the Oregon State Women’s Bowling Tournament and made first place in Class D with a total score of 2240. In cidentally, that is an excellent score for Class D. Now they have to sit and wait A D P RICES E FFE C TIV E M A Y 2 7 - 2 8 - 2 9 Plaza.
