The voters w ill be asked in this election to approve about $14,500 over the six per cent limitation of the district. Meeting on Salmon River set There w ill be a public meeting concerned with the Forest Service management of the Salmon River drainage. This area is currently being studied by a team who are considering all aspects of the total environment, plus man's needs, in developing a land management plan This m ulti discipline approach is designed to use a ll ecological in formation gathered about the area. A meeting for the Salmon River Study Area w ill be held at the Welches School, April 28, at 7:30 p.m. At that time we will discuss the Study Area and how the public can present their views in the management of this area. S tim ulating the public's presentation of their views is the main purpose of this meeting. This study w ill take about twelve months to complete. Public input into the study effort w ill help assure .ts success. The total budget for 1971-72, if the levy is approved, w ill be $55,680 compared to the current year’s budget of $38,674. This is the first time in the 10 years of the district that it has had to go to the voters to ap prove money over the six per cent limitation. Fire district board members stated that everything in the proposed budget is needed to upgrade the district and to give better coverage throughout the rural areas. One reason why the budget is having to be increased this year is that the district is being required by the county to switch to a two frequency radio operation. The new equipment required to do this is figured to be costing the district about $6,200. Oyher items in the budget causing an increase in spending are: The spending of $4,800 towards the operation and purchase of ¿he new tanker for the district. The new tanker w ill help the district meet better hauling capacity stan THE O TT R E L L C O M M U N IT Y Club is holding their dards throughout the 62 square annual Ham Dinner on April 24.
