We believe the city is taking the
right step w ith the water meeting
scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday in
the city hall.
This meeting is needed to inform
the people of Sandy and the new city
officials as to what is being done to
help solve the water problems of the
city.
Hopefully from this meeting the
city officials w ill be able to draw
enough facts so that in the near future
they can develop a short and a long
range plan to meet the water needs
in the Sandy area.
For if Sandy is to grow and develop
we must have the water to serve the
people and needs of the community.

It was almost unbelievable. The
voice was that of Hubert Humphrey
com paining about the “ N ixon
escalation’ ’ of the w ar in Indo-China.
If anyone ever should know what
escalation is all about, it is Hubert
and his old buddy, Lyndon Johnson. It
was the Kennedy-Johnson Democrats
who dug us deep in Viet-Nam, not the
Nixon Republicans.
And at the same tim e, we’re getting
a little tired of Democratic efforts to
hang in fla tio n solely onto the
Republicans. If your memory goes
back over two years, you’ll recall that
galloping inflation was unloosed by
Democratic administrations.
Pres. Nixon is doing a lot of things
wrong, make no mistake. But the
Johnson-H um phrey a llia n c e s t ill
holds the track record. Pres. Nixon’s
problem is that i t ’s taking him too
long to undo what the Democrats did.
