THESE T H R E E GIRLS have been chosen to represent
Sandy High School In the All Northwest Choir. Kathy
Wolfe on the left in front, Kay Ashton on the right in front
and Heather Harper in back are all seniors and will join
the choir during spring vacation in March when the choir
will make a record album at Boise. Idaho.

selected to participate in the All
Northwest Choir during spring
vacation.
The choir is selected every
other year and its 400 members
are made up of the outstanding
singers fiom high schools from
the
states
of
Oregon,
Washington, Wyoming, Idaho,
Alaska and Montana.
The three Sandy girls are all
seniors and members of the
school choir. They will receive
the music scores which the

February and learn them on
their own and then the choir
will get together in Boise, Idaho
during spring break to sing.
When they go to Boise the
girls w ill practice during the
week with the choir and then a
concert will be performed on
Saturday night. The concert
w ill be taped and made into an
album according to the Sandy
girls.

Hyacinth Grassl received a
letter from Duane Comfort,
former 7th grade teacher, who
asked to be remembered to the
faculty and other friendss The
Comforts are in Gualdalajara,
Mexico, where Duane is at­
tending the Spanish Language
School. They spent a week of
their Christmas vacation in
Mexico City, where they were
quite impressed w ith the

The seventh grade basketball
team, under the guidance of
coach Bernard Wollard, has
won four of its five games so far
this year. The score of the first
game with Boring was quite
close with Sandy having 22
points and the opponents have
21. High scorers were Bill
Anderson and Larry Dahlkee
with eight points each. Ron
I^amm made four points and
Jeff Martin, two
The second game with Bull
Run 7th and 8th graders was
won by a score of 32 to 22. Brad
Beiser, I^arry Dahlkee and Ron
I^amm each made eight points.
Pete Peterson made four points
while Dan Tigleo scored two.
Richard Dyal and Mark Mc­
Manus each scored one point.
Canby was defeated by a 20 to
10 score there for our third
game Brad Beiser made eight
points Ron Lamm and Mike
Simon each made four. Bill
Anderson, three, and Pete
Peterson one.
The fourth game at Estacada
was lost by a score of 22 to 31.
High scorers were Mike Simon
with six points, Bill Anderson
and Ron U m m with five, Peter
Peterson, four, and Je ff
M artin, 2. We w ill play
(played) Estacada again on
January 19 on our home court.
This time we hope the story will
have a different ending.
Our fifth game was a return
match w ith Boring which
Sandy won 27-20 Ron Lamm
was our high scoring player He
also did a very good job on
defense.
The stage band performed
for the PTA Tuesday night.
Their numbers were "Once in
Your Life,” "The Stripper,”
and "Aquarius

Mrs. Lavar E. Coy of Route 3,
Sandy, has reported for duty at
the Naval Air Station. Norfolk,
Va.
