According to State Police Sergeant Kaczenski, head of the small army of officers investigating the theft, the burglars entered the truck line office through a rear window, took the keys to the van and drove it off. Tim e of the theft was put between midnight Thursday, when Sandy police made a routine check of the truck line premises, and 7:25 a.m. when Perkins came to work. A search of the area where the truck was found revealed no clues and police theorize it was off-loaded elsewhere before being abandoned on the Springdale Road. The missing beverage shipment was consigned to State Liquor Stores at Sandy and Rhododendron. However, local patrons need not worry about any shortage of holiday spirits.
