Hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Purpose for the clinic will be to determine whether or not a hearing problem is involved, and if so, to what extent. The testing will be free to all Seniors. Lavin will speak at the Center on Wednesday, Nov. 5, to explain the reasons for loss of hearing, and what can be done to correct or alter the situation. Upper grade students are getting their hot rods in shape for the school’s 23rd annual Hot Rod Races, the only one of its kind in America. These will take place the week of Nov. 17- 21. He is serving as an assistant in the Friends Church in Tecumseh, Mich. Sherill plans to help him with calling and visiting. Donnie is in kindergarten. Firwood teachers honored newlyweds M r. and Mrs. Tom Dyal with an after-school party in the library Tuesday, Oct. 28. Jana Mitchell, second grade teacher, and Tom Dyal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dyal, were married in Reno Oct. 25. The young couple live at Alder Creek. Toni Hergert has been doing her cadet teaching with Mrs. Wallen as she is interested in working with handicapped children. Cadet teaching is the program in which the high school and grade school cooperate to give the students an opportunity to experience teaching situations so that they will be more apt to know if they want to enter the education field when they go to college. Next week, Nov. 9-15, is American Education Week. It is hoped that many parents will be able to visit our school at that time.
