For the benefit o f others who m ay have had the same difficulty, IH briefly review the circumstances and the latest on this tale o f dishonesty in the magazine world. Last January I sent a check for five dollars to the Curtis Publishing Co. for which they w ere to send a y e a r’s subscription to an English friend. The check was cashed but no acknowledgement was received and no Ladies Home Journal arrived in England. I wrote numerous letters and got madder and madder. A report was sent to The Better Business Bureau and they answered they would do what they could. They did. Last week report came as follows: “ We have written two letters to this concern and have failed to receive any acknowledgement or reply—The failure of the subject to respond to this complaint must now become a part o f our file record to be reported when inquiries are received on it.” That sounds as th o ug h the Ladies Home Journal is on the black list, Later, after my article in the Sandy Post was published, some kind lady (I didn’t get SPECIALS Capri Foaming Bath Oil oi 79c »/a Gal Nylons Glassware, Small Appliances, Incense Burners anc I Incense Seamless Mesh 89: $1 19 Gift Wrapped BOXED CANDY Ladies TIMEX Wrist Watches New Selection of Fashion Watches by Rodgers, Hoefler's, ”4^ Saylor and W hitm an Boxes from $l S9to J6°° BY TRINA . . .
