The students so designated have been chosen from all high schools in Oregon on the basis o f outstanding a c a d e m ic a c h ie v e m e n t , a c c o r d in g to S id n e y Schlesinger, chairman of the commission. S tu d e n ts selected from Sandy Union High School are Peggy A. Nagae, Douglas H. Reck man, Susan L. Drew and James M. Gratreak. The Oregon Scholars award, established last year by the commission, gives recognition to the academic merit o f students in the state who have excelled during high school, whether or not they have the financial need which qualifies them for state scholarships, Schlesinger said. A total o f 1500 students, from the 1969 graduating classes o f Oregon high schools totaling approximately 35,000, will receive Oregon Scholars a w ard s. J effre y M. Sponsored by Circle K club, its purpose is to find an especially agile frog to represent the college at the Calaveras County International competition in California. The jumping spree is the second annual for the Circle K club. Long-legged frogs should remain in hiding until after Friday, May 10. The contest will be over bv 4:30 D.m. i Don’t come out from under your water lily before 3 p.m. as the jumping party will be just beginning. Any person who has a frog may enter.
