A fte r som e correspondence, and further investigation, they have put their trip o ff until the fall. Better weather, and better connections. Now I don’t have to start being envious until later. Cathy Durr in the hospital. I took her in last Thursday night, and Saturday they had confirmed that she had a ruptured disc in her neck. She was operated on Wednesday, and we hope she will be able to come home by the w eekend. So, it will be a couple o f weeks, according to the doctor, before she will be able to go back to work. G et well soon, Cathy. I know you w ill, as soon as you see what I do to my own self, as a hairdresser I ’d make a good cement mixer. (Y u ck) Cathy is in Gresham Hospital. Gladys Perkins is back in the hospital, and we certainly wish her the quickest recovery ever. She just can’t go around leaving these em pty spaces in the mountains. We all miss her, and hope she can make it home real soon. I am sure Harry wants her home sooner than that. Gladys is in Providence Hospital, and would love to hear from her many friends. A card is one o f the best medicines ever. O ur deepest sympathy to the Post fam ily fo r the loss o f their father, M r. Frank Post. We were equally saddened to hear o f the death o f Julia Green. Although she has been away from the mountain for s e v e ra l y e a rs , sh e is remembered by her many friends. Our deepest sympathy to her fam ily. Enjoyed our visit with Jack Fahie. He dropped in to bring me the shells and rocks he had picked up for me in his travels. 4 » I t isn’t everybody that would load down their luggage fo r the plane with a bunch o f rocks. But then it isn’t everybody that would want a bunch o f rocks as a present. Claude got home on Sunday night, and he is the one that is bringing me my jade. Jack went in to pick him up at the plane. Wonder where the wanderlust will take them next. They should stick around home for a spell. Nice to have them back. Bet Ruth is happy to have Jack home, and know she will cook up all those wonderful goodies for him. Rut Ruth, he doesn’t need them. Better put him on Yogurt. C ongratulations to Marj Brown. Marj was the congenial redhead, that worked at the bank, at Wemme. She was married tw o weeks ago to Stan Porter o f Madras. They are liv in g a t Culver, Oregon. Couldn’t happen to a nicer gal. I f you haven’t heard Mick play the Organ, make it a point to drop in, you are in for a treat. Mick has been playing in town for the last several years. We don’t know what kind o f persuasion George used, but it worked and i t ’s great.
