W ell, here’s a wonderful suggestion on how to get everyone in the fam ily wrapped up in Christmas and holiday decorating and to give the kids a glimpse of how much fun it used to be— and still can be. M ake your O W N decorations. This basic dough w ill help you work wonders on centerpieces, candle holders, tree trimmings, wreaths, even gifts. A ll you need (plus some imagination) is: 4 cups flour 1 cup high-quality table salt 1 */i cups water M ix the ingredients (do not double or halve) well with Angers, adding more water if too stiff. Now put everybody to work forming original sculptures. For assistance you might try cookie cutters, knife, fork, spoon, rolling pin, toothpick or what have you. Form larger pieces around wire skeletons or other supports. Paper clips or hair pins make excel­ lent hangers. Bake the finished work for at least one hour at 360" (test for doneness with a toothpick). A fter allowing time for cooling, everyone can pitch in a^ain on the decorating. Use water colors, poster paints, food coloring or felt tip pens, with finishing touches fashioned from small fruits, nuts, berries, candles, buttons, glitter, yam , ribbon or bits of felt.
