WSCS Charters New Organization
A charter service for th
the e r re e -
organization of Women’s So
ciety of Christian
Service
(WSCS) took place Nov. 6 in the
sanctuary of Gresham Metho
dist church.
Reason for the reorganiza
tion was the recent merger of
die Methodist church and the
United Brethren Evangelican
churches. A new charter was
signed by the incoming officers
including M rs. Robert Barnes
who is president. Forty - six
signatures were obtained that
day. Fifteen women who signed
re-organization papers in 1940
of the WSCS were also present
and signed the latest charter.
Secretary M rs. Donald Mar
shall will take the charter to
circle meetings and shut-ins
for additional signatures.
Two women who claimed the
longest continual membership
in Methodist Women’s organiz
ations received gifts from the
society. They are M rs. Ada
Musser and Mrs. Myrtle
Holmes.
President Barnes introduced
two officers of the Portland
District of WSCS. They were
Mrs . Eleanor Huelett, p resi
dent, and M rs. Earline And
e rs, chairman of leadership
training.
