Christmas Message
Christmas is the time of year
when we, as C hristians, cele
brate the birth of the Founder
of our faith. It is the day when
we renew our dedication to His
message of peach and goodwill
toward all menwhichhas guided
mankind fo r the
last 2,000
years.
We celebrate Christm as, as
did our forfathers, because of
the deep spiritual meaning it
holds for us, because the teach
ings of C h rist are fundamental
to our lives, and because we
want the youngest of our gen
eration to grow up knowing the
significance of this tradition
and the story If the coming of
the im m ortal Prince of Peace.
But, in many Am erican homes
anxious thoughts w ill be with
faraw ay loved ones who a ie
suffering hardships and m isery,
risking th eir lives to preserve
fo r us and for all mankind the
fru its of His teachings and the
foundation of civilization .
For
these
men and all
A m eric a, I welcome Christm as
and the New Y ear because of the
prom ise the season holds fo r a
better, more tranquil w orld.
