A 13-point first period deficit
was too much for Sandy to over­
come as Tigard’s Tigers whip-
pt«i host Sandy 66-54 in a non­
league basketball clash here
Tuesday night.
The Tigers stormed to a
21-8 first period advantage lead
by Steve Amunisen ani held
off two furious second half ral­
lies paced by Ron Verdoorn
and Ron Williams at 43-40 in
the third quarter and 50-47 in
the final period.
It was the second straight
loss for the Pioneers as it
evened their record to 2-2 on
the season.
Williams and Verdoorn led
Sandy with 14 and 12 points,
