4 TH! SANDY (Or*.) POST Thur»., Nov 24, 19*4 ($•<■ 1) Nows of FIRWOOD Extension Unit By Mr». l^Roy Lamb. Sandy Is it right? Is it wrong? Is it good? Is it bad? Should I? — These are a few at the questions relating to “Moral Values at Today’s World.” Firwood Extension had a lively discussion on the subject Tuesday, Nov. 8 at the Sandy Woman’s Club Hall. Project leaders: Lillian Ten Eyck and Ruby Mitchell. What are moral values? Are they a concept of right or wrong, good or bad, worthy or un worthy, desirable or undesir able — They are most Im portant, because people use them through out their lives, to determine goals, to set courses at action, and to judge themselves or others. We all agreed values should be taught first in the home. Certain val ues change with the times and customs, we were told, but the values or right and wrong are established and handed down by your families and their families. Later as you grow you will set your own values — but you must learn from child hood to separate good values from bad. Our leaders explain ed that there are times when we may have to alter our values but if we have had a good basic moral training we’ll know the right decisions to make. There was much more -- just wanted to give you a sample. To me this was a lesson to give you something to think about and to take stock at out own values. I liked it! Every one I talked to did too. After our Eye Opener — In dian Tribes of Oregon, plans were made for the next meet ing, Tuesday, Dec. 13, which will be (hate to mention it so early) a Christmas party. There will be no lesson — just a day of visiting, games, singing and eating. Sound good! Members may bring a guest, so round up a Firwood Extension member and come. There will be a gift exchange, $1 limit Bring your own table service and come prepared for fun. Leta Hard ing and Helen Tharpe will be in charge. The rest homes will be remembered as usual. I hope the units at this area won’t be too disappointed — LET'S TALK IT OVER!
