Mrs. Lois Shearman, librar­

brary, Sandy Branch, retired
August 1, after devoting 21
years to the service of the li­
brary. Mrs. Shearman has been

was started in a small build­
ing on Main Street and in 1936
moved to the present location
in the basement of the Womans
Club Hall.

resident of Sandy since 1933.
She is a former teacher, having
taught in New York State, Pen­
nsylvania, and Oregon. Due to
the illness and death of her
husband, she left her position
with the library in 1948, re­
suming it in 1958 and serving
until her retirement.
